I’m a freelance writer, researcher and reporter based in Vancouver, BC. My interests include international relations, Quebec and British Columbia, the Balkans, international criminal justice.

My first bylines appeared in La Rotonde, University of Ottawa’s French weekly.

In 2005, I was the stringer for Journal du Barreau, a monthly focusing on legal issues, in The Hague, The Netherlands, where I covered issues related to the ICC and the ICTY. Through this opportunity, I gained a deep interest in the Balkans and in international criminal justice.

I’ve moved to Vancouver in 2006, to do my Masters of Journalism at the University of British Columbia. My thesis focused on the role played by reporters in a post-conflict situation. The hour-long radio documentary, The Broken Link, brought me to the Balkans, where I followed reporters and locals in their attempts to rebuild trust between ethnic communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the summer of 2008, I worked as a chase producer for the daily show Ailleurs c’est ici, broadcasted on national radio. I had to find interviewees based in Asia and in British Columbia on topics ranging from Indian National Poet Subramania Bharati to a forbidden love story between a French citizen and her Chinese lover.

I’m a contributor to Commerce and Vision Durable, two Montreal-based publications. I also contribute to The Tyee, a Vancouver-based online daily. Other clients include production company Red Letter Films and CBC Radio-Canada, where I work as a news reporter, chase producer and contributor.

I’m fluent in French and English, I can have a conversation in Spanish, and have a (very) basic knowledge of Dutch and Arabic.

When not injured, I try to spend my days off on the mountain.

Je suis un journaliste, recherchiste et reporter pigiste basé à Vancouver, en Colombie-Britannique. Je m’intéresse (dans le désordre) aux relations internationales, au Québec, à la Colombie-Britannique, à la justice criminelle internationale, aux Balkans et aux romans graphiques.

Mes premiers articles sont apparus dans La Rotonde, le journal francophone de l’Université d’Ottawa, où j’ai sévi comme rédacteur en chef en 2003 et en 2004.

En 2005, j’ai été correspondant à La Haye, aux Pays-Bas, pour le Journal du Barreau, un mensuel de droit. Je couvrais les enjeux liés au TPIY et à la Cour pénale internationale. À travers cette opportunité, j'ai développé un intérêt pour les Balkans et la justice pénale internationale.

J’ai déménagé à Vancouver en 2006, en quête d’une maîtrise en journalisme à l’Université de Colombie-Britannique. Dans le cadre de ma thèse de maîtrise, je me suis intéressé au rôle joué par les journalistes à la suite d’un conflit. Pour ce documentaire radio d’une durée d’une heure, intitulé The Broken Link, j’ai voyagé à travers les Balkans. J'y ai suivi le parcours de journalistes et de gens de la place dans leur tentative de recréer des liens entre les différentes communautés ethniques vivant en Bosnie-Herzégovine.

Pendant l’été 2008, j’ai travaillé comme recherchiste pour l’émission radiophonique Ailleurs c’est ici, diffusée quotidiennement sur les ondes de Radio-Canada. Je devais trouver des personnes susceptibles de passer en ondes, pour parler de sujets aussi variés que le poète national de l’Inde Subramania Bharati ou une histoire d’amour interdite entre une citoyenne française et son amante chinoise dans la Chine d'après-guerre.

Je collabore régulièrement aux magazines Commerce et Vision Durable. J’écris de temps à autre pour The Tyee, un quotidien alternatif en ligne. Je collabore aussi avec la compagnie de production Red Letter Films et la Société Radio-Canada, à titre de recherchiste et de reporter-rédacteur.

Je parle couramment français et anglais, me débrouille en espagnol, et ai une connaissance de base en arabe et en néerlandais.

Quand je ne suis pas chez le physio, j’essaie de passer mes journées de congé à l’extérieur, à profiter des montagnes de la côte ouest.
